Tippi and Grace share everything—clothes, friends . . . even their body. Writing in free verse, Sarah Crossan tells the sensitive and moving story of conjoined twin sisters, which will find fans in readers of Gayle Forman, Jodi Picoult, and Jandy Nelson.
Tippi and Grace. Grace and Tippi. For them, it’s normal to step into the same skirt. To hook their arms around each other for balance. To fall asleep listening to the other breathing. To share. And to keep some things private. The two sixteen-year-old girls have two heads, two hearts, and each has two arms, but at the belly, they join. And they are happy, never wanting to risk the dangerous separation surgery.
But the girls’ body is beginning to fight against them. And soon they will have to face the impossible choice they have avoided for their entire lives.

Wow - this book was so different and powerful. Sarah initially reached out to me because I lived currently in Hoboken, however at the time I was not reviewing books, but once I was I dove right into the chance to review this book.

This book was such an interesting take on conjoined twins. It really gave me a different take on how I look at people that are different. I always tried to be as respectful as possible, but sometimes it's hard to know if you're being respectful or not, but this book gives you the perspective of that person.

Through the book, you know the story of Grace, all from her perspective, but through that, you know the story of Tippi, although you only know her personality through that of her sister. I loved that it was through just one perspective and not both because even though they shared most of the same body parts, that didn't make them one person.

To see both Tippi and Grace grow as they were thrust into private school rather than the home schooling they were used to was great to see. They each learned who they were separate of each other rather than who they were together.

The supporting cast was just as fabulous, realizing that every person has their own host of issues being it having a different disease or an un-supportive family member. Every person has their own problems and you shouldn't judge people based on what you see outside.

I loved this story, and I felt that there was a little bit of home in it since I live in Hoboken and every weekend, my boyfriend and I visit Malibu Diner which is mentioned in the book. We go so frequently, that we're even seated in the regulars section (and by that I mean with all the older folks). All in all, this is a beautiful story told in verse that is quick to read and easy for readers of all teen and older ages.
